The Salish Sea is truly unique globally. It is such splendid beauty of landscape above and below the water, such richness of biodiversity and natural and cultural resources. It is truly world heritage by every definition of the concept. You should do everything you can to make it earn the official status of a Unesco World Heritage Site.

Please do this.i have lived and worked on the Salish sea all my life.this should be a priority for our government.it should have been done 25 years ago when Howe sound became so polluted that it was closed to Se a food harvesting.we are surrounded by refiners and pulp mills and poluters of all descriptions.the mine at texada island being one of them where I was involved for 18 years was such a disgrace it turned my stomach.the handling of coal at that facility was so careless the water around the docks was literally black.i could go on and on.the destruction by logging all over the fore shores of this province is a travesty.in my lifetime I have seen the demise of dozens of salmon bearing creeks.why is North America in general so backwards and behind the times?

Let's honour the promise of 2010 to protect 10% of our coastal waters under the International Convention on Biodiversity. Let's protect the returning whales and 3000 species of the Salish Sea for our traditional communities, for the enjoyment of ourselves and for tourism in BC and for future generations to enjoy and remember the beauty that is here. Let's call for a World Heritage Site here for Puget and Howe Sounds. Let's save the returning wildlife so that the beauty of the natural world is never forgotten.
