I am very saddened by the path that Salem Methodist Church is taking Salem Pre-School. I was a three-year-old pre-school teacher for 35 years. We had a very desirable pre-school with parents waiting in the parking lot the day of registration. The current staff is very dedicated and families are very pleased with their children’s education and experience. To change this school that is so popular and loved by parents and children alike, is not a good idea. Please reconsider the future of this wonderful school.

Salem Preschool is a hidden gem. I am so grateful for the day that we discovered this little school for our now 6-year-old and the welcoming community that came with it. The sudden onset of the HUGE changes in the school with so little transparency about what is actually happening has left me feeling so uncertain about our future at Salem Preschool and like we are back to the drawing board on finding a nurturing educational environment for our three-year-old that isn't religiously influenced.

Two of my granddaughters have enjoyed learning at Salem Preschool and we are hopeful other children can benefit from this well run program. The staff makes all the difference.

We are so pleased with the school this year and it truly has been an amazing experience for our child. The lack of transparency is quite a red flag as is the loss of such a large portion of a wonderful group of teachers. This certainly will impact future enrollment.

What a shame that outsiders can cause such upheaval to an otherwise wonderful situation. I know these teachers. They are a rare breed. This will impact our decision to return or not next year.

We are sad to see this. Our ten year old went to Salem and we loved it so much. We were hoping to send our two year old daughter there next fall!!!

I am a former preschool teacher with 2 grandchildren at Salem. I take an active part in their education and am very concerned that the program will no longer be secular and that the changes are so significant that the stability of staff is at risk. Staff continuity speaks volumes for a program. Parents need to know exactly what is happening so other plans can be made for their children.

My granddaughter is so happy there. Her current teachers have helped her adjust to school which was difficult for her . She is thriving now and we are looking forward to her continuing to develop without starting all over again. Please work with the current staff to maintain this quality program.

I sent all 3 of my children to Salem. We had an amazing experience. I do not like what is happening and will no longer endorse Salem to friends and family in light of these changes. Salem has been one of the few preschools left that does not have a religious influence. This was very important to us. It was run extremely well. I hope Salem can be preserved and not changed! The voice of the parents and employees needs to be included and respected.

I'm optimistic that the church will reconsider the path they intend to take. However, given the current trajectory, we do not intend to send anymore of our children to Salem for preschool, and will also encourage our friends to look elsewhere for alternatives.

To whom it may concern I am a proud Salem parent who fully supports its original teacher and staff. The structure, kindness, and commitment these teachers and director have are unwavering. I am extremely upset with what is happening right now with what’s going on and feel this is very unjustified to the school and staff. We have been going to Salem for these people. Whatever the plan is going forward will lead to its downfall as Salem staff will always be first in my opinion. Whatever is happening behind closed doors should have been brought to light long before this so you could actually hear and care about the parents/guardians opinions of what this school brings and how important their structure is to the the families that attend. Your lack of information and caring for these families will have us seek elsewhere as it seems you don’t have the best interest in the children at heart.
