Please give St Simons Island and Sea Island residents the right to vote on whether to be incorporated or not. While I own a home on St Simons Island, I am actually a resident of Sandy Springs, GA ....and becoming a city was the best thing to ever happen to Sandy Springs!

I urge our elected representatives to give their constituents the opportunity to vote on this very important issue. I'm not opposed to development but strongly believe it must be done in a manner that protects the islands' fragile environment and wildlife not only for today but for future generations. We have a responsibility to be good stewards of this beautiful place we call home. Currently that is not happening!

Please support our right to determine the manner by which we are governed.

I urge our State Representatives Alex Atwood and Jeff Jones and our State Senator William Ligon to support the passage of a bill in the Georgia General Assembly in the 2016 session calling for a referendum on the issue of city-hood.

I believe that we have the right to determine the quality and future of our home. Uncontrolled development has severely impacted the Islands and only a strict control of this can insure that the beauty and serenity of St. Simons and Sea Island can be maintained.
