ARE OUR KIDS SAFE? Does having a right to choose a bad school site matter more than a student or citizens life, YES or NO?

Great school, incredibly poor location. Do the right thing and don't allow this school to be built at this location. There is no other choice that makes sense for both the students and the neighborhood.

This site is too close to a major road with a single entry/exit point raising safety risks to all citizens. The site is also too close to a major road as suggested by the EPA. Please consider safety first as good education amounts to nought with just one fatality.

I am a 23-year resident of Rio Montana subdivision (at 130th Street and Shea) and am concerned that the school as proposed will pose serious traffic issues and safety risks. Please prevent these issues and risks by dramatically reducing the size of the school or by foregoing placement of the school at this location. Thank you.

I accidentally signed the petition for basis, I am absolutely positively against basis

This is just wrong. The whole Basis concept is profit before children fueled by academic snobbery. It just makes me want to vomit.

I support Basis School, but certainly not in such a dangerous location. Other available sites in Scottsdale would be much more safe for the children, parents, and neighboring community.

City of Scottsdale Council: Please step up and stop this project now. We lack school site safety guidelines in Arizona, but if you apply California Board of education guidelines to this project fails nearly every safety rule and legislation. A hands off leadership (BASIS) with aggressive law firm (Rose) and weak AZ guidelines has proven to be a reckless combination and requires council members to step up to protect children, parents, neighborhood, Shea travelers and frankly BASIS. You are the last barrier.

Our kids shoukd be safe at all times, they have the right to feel free of danger when they are walking to the bus stop and return to their homes, they shoul be safe when they riding their bikes. If we don't protect their right to be safe and secure ,who is going to do it? It's our responsibility as a community, to be for them. Who is going to be responsable for any minor accident or a fatal tragedy in our kids lives around our neighborhood?

I have numerous questions with Paul Basha about the flow of cars into the site and out of the site. Many of these questions remain unanswered!

I am totally opposed to this school being in this location. It is on a dead end street with one way in and one way out for the school and residents of the neighborhood. and a 6 lane highway with speeds in excess of 50 mph

Also, East Cochise Dr. a & East Gold Dust Dr. aren't built to handle the traffic that will try to avoid 128th St. A disaster waiting to happen.

I believe that once you study the plan for this location, you will clearly see that it is a dangerous spot for students, commuters and neighbors.

If Basis truly cares about the safety of their children and the surrounding community, they will find a more child friendly environment to put their school--not immediately off a 6 lane road with no sidewalks.

The landlocked community in which the Basis school intends to build with an expected student body of 1000+ "drive thrus" daily will cause tremendous traffic flow problems and force those attending schools to use the neighborhood rural-style unevenly paved roads with no sidewalks to find their speediest way out of the school. This will, no doubt, endanger the lives of walkers and cyclists in the community as well as drivers in and around the current community. the infrastructure is not equipped to handle such a high traffic project and the project should be relocated.

As the DRB said after voting it down twice, "Good school, poor location."

Poorly thought out.

We don't want to see a tragedy in our neighborhood. Keep our children safe. Place schools where the public and our children are safe. A school should not be next to a 6 lane busy high seped road where kids have to cross to get to it.

We care about our children. Thank you!!

This school site provides no safe alternative for walkers or bikers to the school. It is not a safe site for a school and the traffic implications will be the burden of the City and the tax payers, not the school developers.
