Safety issues in Manhattan

We don’t need a safety study. We live here, we drive these roads daily. One life should be enough yet the number keeps increasing

Very dangerous intersections

A friend of mine was in an accident at Baker and Cedar when they were coming to my home.

Something needs to be done!

Another intersection that desperately needs a stoplight at best, or a 4-way stop sign at least, is Cedar & Smith Roads. The turning lanes make it a more complex intersection. We need to realize that our community is no longer as rural as it was when so many of us first moved here 20 years ago! Our roads need to be adapted to this growth.

These youngsters to be fixed sooner than later! It terrifies me that my family travels that daily and the weekly phone call to make sure they weren't involved.

We live just north of Baker Road and Cedar. We have witnessed so many accidents there, with death, and injuries over the last several years… We have been praying for a four way stop at this intersection, and are very nervous when we have to go into Manhattan and drive through that area.

We need this if it would save one life it would pay for its self and save officers and first responders so much time and mental strain.

Please help save our community from any more deaths

You should also include Cedar Road and Smyth Road, there’s so much activity there with the turn lanes almost makes it more difficult and confusing for people

Enough is enough. Semi trucks vs regular cars do not mix. Stops signs will at least slow the traffic down.

I live in neighboring New Lenox and don’t like traveling to Manhattan because of high speeds and poor lighting. It just isn’t safe. Also add the increased semi truck traffic and it’s a recipe for disaster.

Having lived at Baker and 52 since 1989, I can say without a doubt something needs to be done at this intersection.

STOP the accidents STOP the loss of lives.

Something needs to be done for these intersections. I'm not sure if stop signs or stoplights are the answer, but safety definitely needs to be addressed. There have been way too many accidents for this to be ignored.

Please move quick as these intersections are only getting worse with the increase in population
