SAFETY BEFORE DEVELOPMENT

This neighborhood has some hard geographical barriers, and is not suitable for expansion.

I oppose this development. It will create too much congestion in our neighborhood on the existing streets.

I oppose this new development. The area doesn't need more congestion. Any additional roads would severely alter the quiet neighborhood that we share and make it unsafe. During an emergency it would not be safe to get all residents out. I am opposed to this new development plan.

It is a danger to over impact an area, as fore mentioned , we only have one way out adding, so many additional homes now and more later is absurd and puts this area at risk during say for fires or any natural disaster.

The former Doubletree Golf Course/Designated Open Space should not be turned into residential homes, under any condition. The homes in NE PQ were part of a planned zoning which paid a premium to have open space and quiet areas. We have few amenities in NE PQ and we should not lose the open space by turning it into more congested residential area. Turn it into a park, a nature preserve, walking trails, or anything that helps to retain the open space, nature and beauty that helps to encourage outdoor exercise. And do not overlook that it will not be safe when it comes to fires, or natural disasters, when more homes are added in the NE PQ area.

My parents have lived in the community for over 30 years. Since the area was built, it has been the one road in and out of the community. If you build those units without adding more roads out of the community, the area will not be safe. Having lived for 20 years myself on Andorra way I also can say the road has enough traffic and would not be appropriate or safe to try to punch that road through to rancho Bernardo. That would create a dangerous alternative to the freeway for the residence. The reason the development has not happened in prior attempts is the reality of safety.

The reason we chose this neighborhood was the view, if they build that many homes in the open space, it will destroy the view so many of our homes have, and will most likely lower their value.

I do not want the new housing development .. it will ruin our little neighborhood ..

We already have too much houses and not enough park space so it would be benefit if this project does not get done.

This plan is not good for our neighborhood. Please don't let it happen.

The lack of forethought by those planning the development of the Doubletree Golf course is unacceptable. Traffic can be bad now ... without the addition of added residents.

I oppose this development for all the reasons the petition states.

Live up the hill, traffic is already bad on Penasquitos Blvd. This would create way too much congestion.

The congestion of housing instead of open space would be unsafe and overcrowded. It is designated open space for a reason. Don't let big business change or neighborhood negatively.

I urge the city to reject the development of the Penasquitos open space (former doubletree golf course). My home is in the canyon at the very end of this neighborhood. My family will be at great peril at times of evacuation due to fires. Please do not doom my family by building a large scale development in an area with poor outlet access. Our safety is in your hands. 33 North has not considered the safety of our neighborhood when designing this development. There are many other places to construct home without dangering the lives of existing San Diegans.
