Final supporters
In a bid to stop the young children of our communtiy having to cross the busy road of Nether Lane when they visit our ground we created additional car parking spaces on the wasteland area of our ground, these new safer car parking spaces created at great expense to the club have been opposed by local residents & by the local MP Angela Smith.
Before the creation of these safer parking spaces cars were parked up both sides of nether lane & on the meadow lea farm estate, meaning many of our visitors of which the majority are children had to cross a very busy road when leaving the ground.
Since the creation of the new safer parking spaces 80% of the vehicles that visit us can now safely park within the confines of our ground without having to cross a busy road to leave.
. Should the opposition to our safer parking area be upheld the club will lose all the money
invested in the car park which is inexcess of £11,000 plus we will also
have to pay to put it back to the way it was at again more expennse
which the club cannot afford potentially forcing the club to fold &
the 17 teams & 200+ children being unable to play football.
Please help us to show that these safer parking spaces are much needed
by signing our petition to show our opposers that childrens safety &
welfare should be paramount above all else.

Seeing this kind of backing shows me that people still prioritize the safety of these children over local bureaucracy. It has been a long and draining week but knowing we have this level of support keeps me moving forward.

Surely much safer for children, parents and passing motorists. There previously were vehicles either side of the road, with car doors opening+closing for young footballers getting in and out. Dangerous!!
Visited the ground for the first time recently and parked in this car park. I cannot understand why someone would want the cars to be parked on the main road instead of onsite. Why would anyone object to this?
Things like this should be approved without question.i played at the red rose ground many times myself over the years and parking was a problem at times.i fully understand the residents views but the council should realy be backing this.lives are at risk.
Insane to oppose safe parking. The car park should actually be increased to take cars off Nether Lane. As a resident of the mellor lea farm estate parking here is horrendous and Red Rose need a proper car park.
As a parent of a child who plays on the pitch I believe safety is paramount. I believe it I a little sinister that a resident who has no affiliation to the club should be so keen to watch our children exercise.
There has been no loss of habitat for wild animals in any meaningful sense, and the tiny amount of green belt lost to this project is no loss against the potential safety concerns for the children. Demanding the car park be removed will not regenerate any lost habitat witho further public investment. Leave these good people alone to enjoy their passion.

As a resident of Mellor Lea Estate it's been an ongoing issue for myself that the parking issue created is of a very unsafe situation for the footballers and residents and I welcome the addition of safe parking
