I lost a tooth once from getting hit in the mouth with beads.
The next year nearly got hit in the head with a plastic cup with a lid that was full of beads.

This is exactly the reason I don't attend Mardi gras. I been hit in the mouth so many times by beads it actually knocked my front teeth lose. They also need to ban the riders from drinking alcohol before and during the time they are on the float. Thats the way it use to be. To many riders get the big head when they drink and show their butts by throwing things way to hard. The organization should be held responsible for what their members do.

I agree that there are things that need to be done to fix people getting hurt. This isnt New Orleans. This is the Birth Place of Mardi Gras. We need to be able to safely enjoy it like it should be and not be fearful for the safety of our families or ourselves.

Yeah saw a kid (maybe 4-5 years old) get hit by someone throwing a moon pie box like a football. They waited until they moved past us and looking at the marching band behind them before they threw it. Come to find out the box was filled with tokens, empty beer cans, and Ramen noodles. Impressive throw, terrible outcome.

I no longer go to mobile between crime & getting hit by mean people on floats no longer want to attend. Please make it safe for the kids!!!!

I saw many serious violations yesterday and it's time to put enforce the fines.

Tourists will stop coming to our parades if they think they or their children may be injured by drunks on floats throwing boxes, etc. as hard as they can snd laughing when innocent people are injured. It is assault!
