We need to lobby North Somerset Council to action some sort of crossing or road enhancement to make the junction of Chapel Hill, Highdale Road and Lower Linden Road safe. North Somerset Council are currently unlikely to support a school patrol (lollipop lady) at this junction due to their analysis of number of vehicles vs. pedestrians. Their analysis cannot be the only factor to be taken into consideration as their survey was conducted over only two mornings and does not acknowledge in any way the horrendous lack of visibility at this junction.
One of the main concerns is for the primary school children of St Nicholas Chantry who have to cross this junction but it is equally tricky for the general motorist.
The council keeps pointing to their narrow data sets while ignoring the blind corners that make this junction a daily gamble. I am currently drafting a formal response to challenge their assessment of the visibility hazards we face here. It is exhausting work but the stories you keep sharing about near misses prove we cannot back down now.

My daughter walks to St Nicks and I worry every single morning. The cars come round that corner way too fast and you just cant see them coming.

Visibility is shocking here. Almost been clipped twice just trying to turn out on to the road. Ridiculous that they wont do anything.

the council survey is a joke. they need to come stand here at school run time and actually watch what happens. fix it before a kid gets hurt!
