Pupils of Studham CofE Village School currently have no choice but to cross Church Road on a blind corner that is a high accident risk, in order to attend school. With no footway on the school side of Church Road, the only option is for parents and children to cross at a point where visibility of oncoming vehicles is extremely poor. The potential for vehicle collision with a child and or parent is a serious daily risk.

For the safety and welfare of nearly a hundred Studham school children making this daily crossing, we suggest creation of a new footway. Laying a path on the school side of Church Road, from the bus stop up to School Lane, would enable children and parents to cross safely, at a point in the road that is straight and therefore with considerably better visibility of oncoming vehicles. The school supports this proposal, however, we need to show that a substantial number of parents also support it, before it is considered by the Parish Council on 5th March 2018. PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT for safer school access for the children of Studham School.
