The amount of military planes and helicopters that fly over Imperial Beach on a daily basis has become unbearable and only continues to increase. It's not fair to the residents who live here, especially those who have lived here for years, before this became such an issue. And especially since the houses that were built here weren't built with noise insulation because there didn't used to be such an egregious noise issue. My windows do next to nothing to buffer the noise but I can't even open them any more to enjoy the ocean air. It's unsettling, unpleasant, and dangerous to have these giant, loud, vibrating, pollution creating machines flying overhead day and night. It's bad for our health and well being. Please help. We matter. It's not unpatriotic to want some peace and quiet!

The noise is awful and I'm also noticing a lot of black soot in my house which can't be healthy. And the beach is unusable. Why won't they just fly off shore? How does the hotel Dell put up with this at $300 a night? Is this why the multi-million dollar homes in Coronado look unoccupied? No one lives here? I can see why

I just moved here and I'm so annoyed with the terrible airplane and helicopter noise every evening. My landlord said there was no plane noise and I want to get out of the lease because of it but that's another story.
Don't know why they can't just fly off shore for safety reasons as well. How in the world can this beautiful community put up with this crap for years and years?

Recently I learned from Anna Shephard, AICP, Naval Base Coronado, Community Plans and Liaison Officer that the Navy will be replacing the aging C-2A Greyhound with the new Navy V-22 (Osprey), to more efficiently deliver cargo to aircraft carriers. As you know the Osprey is a very loud flying machine. However, according to Anna, it was determined at NAS North Island there was no perceptible difference in noise levels in the community. She also said there will be a 14% increase in the number of flight operations. The Navy will be realigning their carriers, and Coronado will soon be the homeport for a third nuclear carrier, which would explain the increase in aircraft. Further, I asked Anna for a map of the APZ (Accident Potential Zone) for San Diego Bay. She sent me a map, but it was only for the APZ for the ocean front...not for the bay. Does anyone know why there is no APZ zone for aircraft flying over San Diego Bay to NAS Coronado?

Flights over the north end of Chula Vista. Why can’t flights be moved over the Sweetwater River and hwy54. At present we get 10/30 flights directly over our home. Plus as late as 10:30 pm.

The noise from the military is deplorable. Some days we get it from 6 am to 11:30 pm. It's the constant vibration from the sky that is extraordinarily stressful and harmful to our health. The leaders of these military operations should at least give us the start times of this noise and the end times of the noise, so maybe we can have some peace.

Pollution from helos fuel is my great concern, my daughter went to Crown Preschool and now she is at Village and some days the air our children breath is so contaminated that I feel guilty to leave her at school where they spend hours outsude . Also, there are so many nights were we go to bad after exhausting days spent honestly working to pay our house mortgage and we can't fall asleep because of the blades noise. This is not respectful considering that there are alternatives the Navy can use. Cecilia

I realize the Navy has a job to do but the Noise level from the Osprey is just too much you can not even talk over it, Listen up we will all be deaf down the road from this. Relocate the residents can tolerate the regular noise pollution but this is very extreme to harm the health of your children, parents and elderly. Please relocate. It is not only the noise but the vibration of those powerful motors.
