Kids need socialization and not e-learning... there's a reason that kids can't do e-learning internet accessibility, parents have to work, computer access. Teachers aren't really teaching in these e-learning classes either.

Schools need to reopen. The quality of distance learning terrible with teachers who are not willing to deliver quality but rather it’s a check mark of “to do” to get pay check. My son actually got kicked out of zoom class by his teacher because he had technical difficulty to unmute himself when he was assigned. She didn’t ask, nor try to understand what’s going on on his end, but just kicked him out and sent an email to parents (us) later that she had no no hesitate to do it again. My son is in 2nd grade. His opportunity of leaning is taken away in remote setting.

I agree, our kids are lacking on campus structure both social as well as physical. Any thing I can do to help please do give me a call back. ,(Email) thanks again for review and attention to this matter.

Open them but don't even think to try and force people into sending their kids back. (That means no consequences for opting no.) Only near sighted people think that in only 2 short years we've got a handle on this thing. Nobody should be under any kind of obligation to send their kids back if they are uncomfortable. And before anyone says ok but parents need to prove their case.... No. I'm gonna say it right now we can keep our kids home while the rest of these parents who can't wait to get their kids back to schools, go on and be the test subjects. This thing cites top doctors but if you look at any one of them face to face and ask if they are 100% sure everyone is gonna be safe they are gonna tell you they can't do that because nothing is set in stone. "Not likely" isn't a no. This posting states they want to vaccinate every kid but it's proven that a small percentage of people have some negative reaction to it. A risk you're willing to take I bet since it's probably not your kids being the guinea pig. Even the parents here can't say for certain their kids won't be allergic or whatever. Since nobody really knows do they? So High School kids... Yeah ok I can see how they miggghht be careful. But elementary and middle school? Kids are gross and will be unless the plan is to be overwhelmingly strict in which case you send them out of home into a state run boarding school. I'd like to know how distance learning creates the inequalities this petition is speaking of. Don't get me wrong I know my kids would love to see their friends but that's as far as it goes. No. Sending them back before the year ends is not smart at all. I'm thinking nobody here knows how a kid reacts when seeing their friends after a long time of isolation. They won't give a damn about anything else. Go on and tell me I'm wrong. Plus a child can learn so much from home if the parents have some idea of how to help. Yes - please reopen schools! Teachers Unions do NOT represent all teachers! The teachers in our family see the inequality for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and are truly WANTING in person instruction. Schools that are open have shown they are NOT spreader events. Open open open!
