Other states are open. Using our safety protocol our schools should open. Its time for K-12 to open now. Our kids mental health is at stake.

How would this even work? You're not going to have many teachers on board and same with substitutes without them being vaccinated first. So, when you try to open the schools, teachers are going to call in sick, take a leave, etc. and you'll have a shortage of subs to try and make up that difference (already a problem before COVID). Not to mention the various parents that don't want to send their kid in until the teachers and/or themselves are vaccinated. Best case scenario, school open at the beginning of April with fully vaccinated teachers.

Imagine if our health care workers were able to work remotely... education is an essential service too; our schools, public and private, should never have been closed this long.

Dozens of other states have demonstrated that schools can safely be reopened. We need to get kids back in classrooms for their own development, mental health, and happiness!
