We can't only go by the science when it fits our narrative. Medical professionals, including the CDC, agree that schools can open safely with precautions - and this is backed up by real data from CA, and other states where schools have been operating. We need to open schools as soon as possible for the health and safety of our youth.

I would like to see K though 5th grad back in school. As long as the school has proper ventilation and can follow the CDS guidelines.

As a primary teacher with 24 students, I'm very scared to come back now. Four of my families have been affected by Covid and are battling either short or longterm health issues right now. I'm not yet 65 yet, but I'm close. I've done 1-1 reading testing (30 minutes) of students at school this week. One student reflexively took off his mask to cough. He just didn't understand it's purpose. Another kept turning around and taking it off to take deep breaths. When you are 7, masks are very challenging to keep on for hours at a time. Masks are the key to blocking transmission. PLEASE PLEASE urge our government to prioritize the vaccination of TK-2 teachers. WE WANT to come back for our students, but we don't want to die.

Please re-open schools safely for our children. Treat all teachers as Essential workers by giving them the vaccines, and provide them with PPE.
