Safe Winter Roads for St. Paul

The fact some roads never get plowed is apauling

The fact that you rarely plow side roads and no alleys at all make for lots of stuck cars. Parking on main roads like w7th aren’t plowed to the curb so your car hangs out into the busy traffic. I get stuck exiting my alley daily

I think that a snow emergency should have happened Monday Night. It was slippery and cars were getting stuck.

In Minnesota, plow service must be part of the basic services we receive in our city. The recent execution of the City's Plow Services has let our community down. Please improve timeliness, frequency and quality.

I understand some roads are city/some are county/some are state. We gotta remember that average joe citizen doesn’t care who maintains what - please consider policy change that makes the state and county follow a better plow schedule as well.

St. Paul residents deserve better than the incompetent elected officials running this city.

Our taxes are ridiculous not to mention the extra street maintenance fee we pay on top of it.

There is absolutely no acceptable excuse why our streets are not plowed in a more timely manner, especially for the taxes we pay. This is Minnesota, for crying out loud. We should not have to cancel school and stay home from our jobs because someone can not manage the logistics of plowing this city. Work with the neighboring suburbs who already have it figured out, and subcontract when they are done. This is not rocket science and large snowfalls should not appear to be such insurmountable problems as they clearly are. Do your jobs and don’t dare raise our taxes to do it!!

I used to live in Minneapolis, and have become accustomed to having most roads plowed early, and often. Since moving to Saint Paul I’ve noticed a marked difference in road conditions during the winter. If roads are plowed in Saint Paul, it’s only major streets. City streets are typically left untouched for so long that they turn into packed ice sheets for weeks, if not months. This doesn’t seem acceptable, given the cold climate we all live in and the necessity to safely travel from our homes and places of work each day.

The road conditions are terrible for the SPPS school buses. The suburbs plow the night it snows. Not sure why this can't happen in St. Paul!?!

We're so lucky to have good neighbors because my husband and I have sedans and are getting stuck on the roads in front of our house. It's terrible! Our neighbor had to plow the street to get rid of the hill of snow to get out to the main road.

We live across from Highland elementary and its terribly unsafe for residents, parents and most of all Kids!

Also need roads actually plowed curb to curb. Currently the plow drift extends at least a foot into the road on each side. With an already narrower street, we now basically only have room for a single lane of traffic. I would also recommend switching the plow routes to something more similar to how Minneapolis does it, having even/odd sides of the road.

How about Curb to Curb, and round the corner.

Our plowing service is awful.

I grew up in Duluth, the snow fell constantly, and the plowing was spectacular. St. Paul can certainly do better.
