Safe Winter Roads for St. Paul

I have lived in St. Paul for over 50 years and the taxes go up and many services are worse, especially plowing.

As a newer resident of St Paul, I’m finding it difficult to navigate the city streets when they are unplowed. I have had multiple near misses of accidents and have seeen additional damage to my car due to snow buildup and having to dive into snowbnks to avoid hitting cars when I can’t stop on snow covered roads. This needs to change! Not by calling more snow emergencies but by doing maintenance plowing of city streets so cars and emergency vehicles can get through safely.

My street has only been fully plowed twice this winter!

If did my job this poorly I would be out of a job! The work that is being done is not good enough! Do your job and do it right.

It be so much safer if you could plow our side streets more efficiently. We pay so much in taxes. I would hope this issue can improve.

I have lived in St. Paul most of my life, snow plowing and removal has always been bad.

And alleys! Could you at least plow them for 6+ inch snowfalls?

I am sick of the way St Paul cares for our roads in winter. Quit building walking paths and bike lanes, and plow the streets every time it is more than 3 inches!

I need to get to work after a snow fall.

I have lived in Saint Paul for 21 years, and I while I love Saint Paul, I discourage others from moving here due to the unplowed city streets. It’s ridiculous how I have to-very strategically-plan my route to get to work to get to a main, plowed street after a snow fall. It will be the reason I eventually move from Saint Paul.

The horrible plowing job in St. Paul is blaringly obvious when going from any other city street around St. Paul and then into St. Paul. If the surrounding cities can have snow free streets not long after a snowfall, so can St. Paul. No excuses. Plows should be out in St. Paul just as often as any other city. And don't try to say it's because there are so many more streets to plow in St. Paul compared to some of the surrounding cities. More streets means more plows. Mr. Mayor doesn't think there's a problem with the plowing? Maybe he needs to pull his head out of his ass and drive around the city a bit to see what the roads outside of his neighborhood really look like!

Good Luck to you, this city has done a horrible job keeping the roads clear since I was born!

This was ridiculous this year! Side street intersections were POORLY plowed!!! Feet of snow on all 4 corners is unacceptable!

We need our streets plowed curb to curb, and the snow removed from intersections.

Do the right thing, safety first!!!

I wonder if our mayor and city council will ignore this petition the way the ignored the garbage petition. Listen to the citizens of this city!!

Streets used to be better maintained 30 years ago . let's get back to that.

If schools are closing because the school bus can't get around to get kids to & from school. It's bad!

We called after the 10th of Feb. snow fall the man on the phone stated they didn’t declare a snow emergency and we stated the roads are unsafe he said it’s a 50 /50 situation 50 % of people get angry about declaring a snow emergency and 50% want it plowed. I thought it was 3 or 4 inches I didn’t know they changed it to 10 plus inches. If I knew St. Paul was going to be this way, from picking our trash company which is higher in price and poor service. Now not plowing and wanting higher taxes. Hmmmm. So what do we pay for? Oh it must be for nothing. Thanks mayor smashing job.

Seems the city is more worried about homeowners shoveling sidewalks, that they forget about their part of clearing the streets.
