Currently there are no safe surrender / safe haven laws in place in Canada. We believe it is time to change this. Safe Surrender and Safe Haven laws allow a mother the opportunity to surrender an unharmed infant 0-90 days old on average to any safe person at any safe place, ex. hospital emergency rooms, police stations, fire stations. In giving mothers a viable option such as safe surrender we are saving hundreds of babies from abandonment immediately after birth usually leading to the death of the child. No child deserves to die alone, afraid, hungry and cold in a trash can, dumpster, ditch - we can make a difference in these child's lives.
