I HATE THEM. SO MUCH. It's borderline harassment and it's definitely hate speech - all the stuff they yell. When they were here this week, my body language made it OBVIOUS that I did not want them to bother me (hands visibly covering ears, head down, making no eye contact) and yet, they followed after me trying to hand me something I clearly did not want. The wording in the petition could be better but I do agree that something needs to be done to prevent these folks from bothering students in the future.
Also, I agree with some of the other comments in here: This looks HORRIBLE to any of the potential future students that visit our campus DAILY.

I’m so sick of seeing pictures of aborted fetuses in my face while on the way to class. I’m sick of being yelled at that I’m going to hell. This should have ended three years ago.

The campus community would not tolerate racist rants in Shoemaker Square. Sexism and homophobia are just as dangerous to our students.

I have been working near Shoe Maker Square in the Hub for these past two years, and each time I hear those protestors it ruins my mood. I also worry that future students (who pass through that area on tours!!) will see them and decide not to come to USM.

Please remove them from campus so we can feel safe and focus on classes instead of people trying to send everyone to hell

What these people say is harassment. It’s not okay, and it doesn’t have a place on our beautiful campus.

Students should be able to commute to and from class without experiencing hateful speech directed towards them from members of the public on university property.

This petition is so important because of the aggressive atmosphere they create every time they come to our school.
