Cedar Rapids School District currently has a bathroom procedure in place for all K-12 schools which allow students to use the restroom based on their gender identity. With this procedure, it means that biological boys are able to use the girl's restroom/locker rooms and biological girls are able to use the boy's restroom/locker rooms. As much as we ALL want everyone to feel accepted and included, we also need to protect the rights of all students and ensure bathrooms, locker rooms, and overnight stays remain safe spaces. Would you feel comfortable or safe using a restroom with the opposite gender? Would you feel comfortable or safe using the same locker room as the opposite gender? If not, please sign this petition to let the school district know we want safe restrooms that ARE based on biological gender, not gender identity.

Education officials should be held criminally responsible for every child harmed if they will not protect them.
I believe ALL children need to be protected and feel safe, therefore, they need to frequent the appropriate gendered bathroom and locker room as they were born. If still confused check their original equipment.
This is 100% a safety issue, not against anyone specific we want safety for all children!!
Open gender bathrooms are wrong on so many levels and this is opening the school district up for many potential sexual abuse senecios, not to mention the actual SAFETY of all of the children. You are institutions of EDUCATION …but it appears no one is using logical thinking!
I agree. We just want a safe place for all especially our younger kids they are our future
