The council finally caved and committed to installing a proper crossing at the roundabout. It should never have taken this much pressure to force them to protect our kids, but we won.

In Haywood Village, Weston Super Mare children are trying to the cross Runway at the roundabout every day on their way to and from Haywood Village Academy Primary school and this is the closest busiest road by the school without lights, signs or zebra crossing. Every day we witnessed drivers never slowing down at this intersection and rarely stopping to let children cross over the road, not to mention the near misses.
We need to create safer environment for our children and either traffic lights should be fitted or at least zebra crossing.

The local council continues to ignore the constant near misses at the Runway roundabout while our children risk their lives every single morning. I am taking our list of signatures directly to the next planning meeting because these officials refuse to recognize the danger until they are forced to look at it.

The momentum we have built shows that the council can no longer ignore the danger at Runway roundabout. People are finally waking up to the fact that reckless drivers are gambling with our children's lives every single morning.

My Grandson was knocked over by a van here, this needs to be made safe as soon as possible, before there's a fatality !
I cross this road every day with a stroller and a 2 years old .now my little one just want to walk across the unsafe Round about and I get so concern about the speed f some vehicles. So unsafe to judge as per when to cross. Please we need some traffic lights with a zebra crossing line. Thank you for thinking of the safety of our kids .
My grandson lives on Dragonfly Walk. For James' and his school friends safety there needs to be a controlled crossing. A huge amount of houses are being built in Hayward Village, a school and a selection of shops yet priority has been given to 'through traffic' You also need to have 30 mph speed limits. There are lots of children living here. DO NOT PRIORTISE CARS
This road is getting busier and busier being used as a cut through with people speeding through. Would be beneficial to have a safe crossing at this roundabout
A simple zebra crossing would enable children and families to cross the road safely, whilst not interrupting the flow of traffic when no one is crossing
How many kids will be hurt before this happens ???
I have sent an email to John Penrose about the speeding drivers, lack of traffic signs, road markings etc

For a family village having such a busy road through it without any crossings should be changed the one crossing that is actually working leads to another very busy road (glider ave) to cross which is also impossible. Dangerous for adults as well as children.
