The city finally approved the site and I am feeling overwhelmed with relief for our community. Seeing this path forward for our neighbors in need means more to me than I can put into words. Thank you for staying with me until we reached this point.

A safe injection site is beneficial to those who use drugs and those who do not. Everyone has a right to safety. A safe injection site will help with harm reduction and reduce drug paraphernalia in public spaces.

  1. Services help prevent people from transmitting infectious diseases.
  2. Provides the opportunity to form relationships and encourage marginalized people to access health care services, including primary care and addiction treatment.
  3. Brings stability to the community by improving public order and reducing the number of injections taking place on the street.
  4. Services help stabilize people's health.

I support a safe injection site, I think having one is very beneficial. It could end up being someone's step toward getting help and education. Substances are a coping mechanism for so many, who honestly just need someone there who understands what they are going through with no judgement. No one wakes up one day and decides they want to have an addiction to drugs.

This is a great way to promote harm reduction in the community and take the first steps to helping those struggling. Fantastic idea!

long overdue. keeping people alive should be the priority regardless of how people feel about drug use.

It cannot be understated how important these sites are. Our representatives have a responsibility to inform policy and community decisions on evidence and research, and there is significant research on the impact of these sites. They should be in all major cities at least!

Much needed in the community for the safe wellbeing of individuals struggling with addiction to have access to clean injections, counselling and medical staff right there for them.
