We believe that the Iraqi people should not execute Saddam. If they instead punished him with life imprisonment it would be a huge step forward in making Iraq a better and more unified country. Iraq\'s President Jalal Talabani is against the death penalty, so we call on him not to allow an execution to take place.
The request for life imprisonment over execution remains the focus. Behind the scenes we are pressing for a restorative path instead of a final act of violence.

The momentum is incredible. This movement is showing the clear demand for a different path forward.

Let him rot in a cell for the rest of his life. That is a way harsher punishment than just ending it quickly.

Execution is just wrong no matter what someone did. We are better than that.
