We the parishioners of the Sacred Heart and St. Mary's Collaborative request an amendment to the religious education program currently offered to our parish. We appreciate all of the efforts and ideas that have been brought forth and implemented in this time of transition for our combined parish. We as a group thoroughly enjoy the idea of getting together as a community once a month for a family event.

However, we feel that with the loss of the weekly classes our children are not gettingthe education we had access to as childrento understand how import and our Lord God and Jesus is in our daily lives and toimplementthat into their own lives.

Although many of the activities we have done have been enjoyable, our children quite often leave feeling like they haven't "learned" anything. We are often faced with questions by our children at the activities that we don't have answers to,have to go seek out, or look up when we go home. As parents we do our best to explain our faith in our own words as best we can but we depend on the structure of these classes to teach the basics that we were taught as children.

With so many changes to the basic Catholic Mass and prayers, a structured class is the perfect atmosphere to teach all of these things.

Please consider bringing back the weekly Sunday classes and a curriculum that supports teaching our children about the Bible and our faith. We love our Parish dearly and do not wish to seek religious education elsewhere.
