We need more daycare options in Rye - having to drive 15+ minutes to find a suitable daycare option that works for working parents is extremely inconvenient and unfortunate. I recently moved to Rye and didn't expect to have to deal with this type of issue. The Rye community deserves better and so do our children.

Rye needs to invest more in 21st century families! Before the impending closing of LACCC, Rye's offering of child care centers was already severely lacking. If LACCC cannot be replaced, prospective families looking at Rye as a new home might find it too difficult. It was definitely a concern of ours before we bought here, and so I can imagine how hard it might be now for others to envision their new lives here without proper care. Also, no publicly maintained playgrounds downtown near shops. Finding a slide or swing was like trying to find Waldo without my glasses. Harrison has two huge playgrounds within a 2-minute walk from the train station, and if you were to sit for an hour on a Saturday at a corner there, you would quickly realize how beneficial those strollers are to the shop keepers in town. Soon to be family of 4 and new residents of Rye (Sept 2017).

Little Angels was a much loved and invaluable home away from home for my preschoolers. Our choice in childcare was made largely due to convenience as most other options are out of town. We are so sad Rye is losing this support.

Rye needs more daycare options. The current laws are inhospitable for working parents and insensitive to community needs.

Rye has needed daycare facilities for years. It’s time to recognize our changing community of two parent working households. If we want to keep young families in Rye, providing excellent care for their children is a must.

Crucial for duel working parents. Something that is increasingly necessary in Rye as housing prices and taxes continue to climb. More importantly, gives parents the option to work or not work.

Please help support our working families that are interested in creating safe locations for their children that can help prepare them for elementary education and support parents in their efforts as contributing active members of the community.

We need more options! Not every family has the luxury of a generous single-income...or the ability to hire a full-time nanny!

We have no options for a family group daycare facility in Rye. The few locations are booked with a waiting list of 2 years or longer. The only daycare facility, different from a group daycare, is full and shutting down.

We have been needing a zoning change since before 2010. There has to be some change right away to fulfill the need for parents of Rye.

Please open a new daycare center that meets national and state standards. Almost no centers open at this time do.
Yes we need daycare facilities here
It’s time!
