For over two decades I have fought a battle to hold home builders accountable and responsible when they build severely defective houses. It is theft at its worst and they should be in prison if they don't make things right. A home is the largest purchase a family ever makes and it should not be the purchase that destroyed their finances and health.

Why do builder think they are above the law? Or that they don't need to have morals and values, especially when it comes to making people homeless because of the builder's lack of ethics and just plain not caring about their customers and their well being/health. SHAME ON YOU! May God judge you accordingly.

When it comes to building construction deficiencies one must establish OWNERSHIP (for the problem) and DOCUMENT COMPLIANCE (Don't try to this alone. Report this to the County, your local government officials and the media (TV, Radio, Newspapers, etc.). Remember the principle: "ODC" = Establish Ownership and Document Compliance. Get involved and organize the people in your community.

HENRICO, VA 23238: 6/5/2017 - Personally advised Jeff Cox, Service Manager, RH West (23225) and Chad Kiester, Production Manager (23225) that my wife and I want to know whether the windows in our townhouse built completed on 3/31/2016 effected. After living in our home we have numerous complaints to include a roof and dormer that was NOT built to code per Hardesty Construction/Roofing.
Cost for repairs: $5,150.00.

We have been in our home for a short period of time, but there are numerous problems just cropping up. From roof leaks before we moved in to the carpets already coming off the stairs, the lack of supervisor of the manager is quite apparent. Someone needs to be held accountable, and that someone is Ryan Homes.

Shoddy workmanship. We just pulled up our carpets and realized our padding was never upgraded which was why our carpet wore so quickly. Ryan homes never addressed our concerns. There were several areas of our drywall that were patched poorly. We had to have some electrical work done and when the game boxes where opened pieces of drywall and plastic were found, which we were told is a fire hazard. Our drywall in the garage is not up to code, holes in the corner of the garage. This can cause carbon monoxide to leak into our home. After one year our driveway began to crack and now the concrete is coming up. Ryan homes refused to fix the problem. They said it was a result of laying salt down during the winter months.

Overall all I am happy but had a very bad experience with Ryan homes as during the whole process they kept on saying stuff which where not correct and fooled everyone not only me. The quality is really poor it seems like living in a rental apartment it's just in own it and now it's my problem. The list is not that long for me but overall the whole community has and is still facing multiple issues. Material used looks very cheap, parking issues, fire lane issues, garbage disposal issues, and lot more. I hope the government should have an agency monitoring this guy's and Penalized them for such misconduct. I hope there is someone who can listen to our voice.

Shoddy workmanship from ground up. One car garage not large enough for compact car without knocking off the side mirrors. Ryan cut corners using the cheapest materials in every area of the house, including the toilets! I want to sue their ass off please.

We built with Ryan in 2009 and since that we had a leaky foundation and had to re do our finished basement. Then we had to put a new roof on in year three because of the shingles the put on and now we are dealing with rotting wood under siding. They have done nothing. They keep blaming everyone else but it really should be on them. So bad when the house is only 8 years old.

Roof leaks in 6 different areas, 5 windows popped , floor joists are caving. The biggest piece of garbage for 300,00 and our home is fairly new.

I have far too many issues to list. AVOID this builder at all costs. Had I known before purchasing from out-of-state, about all the complaints, I would NEVER have bought. Right now, I am doing a website and getting my local media involved. I suggest the same be done by upset owners in every state. Dwight Schar, Board Member of NVR/Ryan Homes is part owner of the Redskins among other present and past businesses. Do a look up of his name. Only way to get this builder to change is to file complaints in EVERY state, write letters to your state representatives, post your comments everywhere on facebook and the myriad of websites that exist.

Dry wall warranty a joke. The nail pops are back and so are the cracks. $8,000 deck warped d/t improper installation, Ryan Homes refuses to take responsibility. Poor front yard grading, so I got a free lake and dead sod---thanks Ryan Homes for your 10 bags of topsoil for remediation. Mold forming on indoor vents because I am not supposed to keep my house cooler than 70 degrees---WTF? Hardwood floors are warping from a poorly sealed crawl space--not Ryan Homes problem though???? They are all my problems now.
