The Office of Student Assignment has approved my transfer request to Cary High School. I am grateful for the collective effort that secured this opportunity for my future in naval aviation. I look forward to beginning the program and dedicating myself to the curriculum.

Hi, my name is Ryan. As many of you already know, I have a passion for naval aviation and am planning to become a pilot. My free time is consumed by flying my naval and other military RC planes at the Flying Tigers Club, building and repairing them, and reading and writing on my blog about military aircraft. I was extremely excited to join the Naval JROTC program at Cary High School next year, but despite receiving a strong recommendation from the Lt. Colonel who heads the NJROTC there, my transfer request into Cary High School was denied by the Office of Student Assignment. This is the only Naval JROTC program in Wake County, offering a full four-year curriculum and opportunities for enhanced rank, scholarships and other great opportunities to develop leadership, discipline and honor. I have only two minutes to make my appeal at a hearing scheduled soon. Please sign my petition to support my efforts to participate in the NJROTC program at Cary High School. Thank you!

As a former Naval Officer during the Vietnam era, I heartily support Ryan's request for transfer. Let's have someone step up and be practical. When you have a young man willing and eager to serve his country, how can bureaucracy stand in his path.
As a former teacher in Wake County, a veteran with a son who served in the Navy (who is now a pilot) and a brother who was a USAF pilot, I STRONGLY support Ryan's efforts to attend this program. If this is the only program, then he needs to be able to attend Cary HS.
As a former Army CPT with three combat deployments I strongly endorse his acceptance into the JROTC program. Anyone demonstrating this sort of drive and into atone is the exact sort of person our nation needs in its ranks.
Please allow Ryan Wolf to attend Cary High to enable him to attend NJROTC classes. He plans on enlisting in the Navy upon graduation, and this will give him a higher rank, and move him up to a better position with the Navy to further his career. Thank you.
If it wasn't for NJROTC, I would not have had the opportunity to attend the US Naval Academy and serve my country. I support this young man's endeavor as he has shown much more dedication and determination than I ever did at that age.

I live in Cary (not Clayton as stated above) and my neighborhood is in Cary High School's attendance area. There is not a good reason to deny this young man the opportunity to participate in the only Naval ROTC program that is offered in Wake County public schools.
