The planning department finally backed down and rejected this destructive cemetery proposal. We stopped the destruction of Winterley Lane and forced them to respect our community. Stay vigilant because we will be ready to fight again if these developers try to return.

The latest news is that this application is going to be considered by the Planning Department who seem to be looking at the development positively. The next meeting is April 26th we need as many people to turn up if it goes ahead to protest about this application. The contamination risk to watercourse is unacceptable, the amount of hard standing indicated on the site is unacceptable in the green belt, Winterley Lane will be destroyed if they install permanent passing points, this Lane is one of the most historic in the area it should be protected and their are no footpaths the applicants indicate they will firm up and reseed verges to allow pedestrians to step out of the way. It is a totally unacceptable development for this location.

The Planning Department is disgracefully leaning toward approving this destruction of our green belt. They are ignoring the massive contamination risks and the historic ruin of Winterley Lane just to force through this site. I am preparing to confront them directly because this project is a reckless assault on our community.

The massive surge of support proves that we will not let the Planning Department sell out our green belt to these reckless developers. This momentum is exactly what we need to show those bureaucrats that Winterley Lane is not up for destruction.

This is not a viable site, there is a bridge with weight restriction, no foot paths or car park, the lorries that have used the lane for supposed work being done have damaged the lane surface.
The land must be returned to natural greenbelt and left so in the future. There is no guarantee that when the infill works are complete that future collapse will not occur. The whole area is riddled with lime stone caverns
This circus has been going on for over four years and rules have been broken with ref to the filling in of shafts. Also no one in the council or the company have declared what the site is contaminated with or the risks to the water table, wildlife and humans. It must be returned to meadow land as it was promised and nothing else will do.
If the mellish road was found to be unsuitable, because of traffic why would a semi rural lane with a weak bridge be ok ,its ludicrous.
Rushall is gradually using its green space, we need to maintain what is left, and the infrastructure is not there to deal with the increased traffic the funerals would create, either on Daw End lane, or Winterly . THE COUNCIL SHOULD KEEP ITS PROMISES, RETURN AGRICULTURAL LAND BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE, NOT LET WASTE COMPANIES MAKE QUICK PROFITS.
This is completely unaceptable , Winterly lane is too narrow to cope with the volume of traffic a cemetery would produce .A once beautiful country lane has been ruined. This must not be allowed to go ahead .
This must have health and safety implications with the fluids from decomposing corpses. This must NOT be allowed in a residential area at all.

I drive through this lane daily, its difficult enough with it being such a narrow lane, surely a burial ground should be developed in more open inviting space. Winterley Lane is a flytipping hazard area. Would you wish to drive through such a lane leading a loved one to their permanent resting place? I wouldn't want to
