We, the long term skiers and mid-week/season ticket holders of Hunter Mountain are requesting the mountain to run the D lift during the week. This would provide us the opportunity to ski a variety of trails without going to the top. We would have access to Drop off, Lower Racers, Ike and Gun Hill along with the trails that provide us with the B Lift. This is the sunny side of the mountain and much more enjoyable. High winds at the top make it very dangerous with blown away snow and icy conditions. High winds also trigger the sensors causing the lifts to stop and make for a very uncomfortable ride.

We recognize that running the D lift every day would not be economically sound. However, we do ask that you consider running the D Lift on high volume days such as Wednesdays and Fridays.

Updates

April 1, 2015

The wind conditions at the summit have been brutal lately and it just confirms that opening the D lift is a safety necessity for mid-week skiers. I am currently compiling a list of rider experiences to present to mountain management. Please email your local resort representative today and tell them why the sunny side of the mountain needs to be open on Wednesdays and Fridays.

April 1, 2015

The momentum behind this request is proving that we are not the only ones tired of the wind holds at the summit. Please post the petition link to the Hunter Mountain season pass Facebook groups to keep this pressure on management. Text the link to three skiing buddies today so we can keep building this reach.

D lift services wonderful terrain. if necessary conserve by stopping redundant F allowing some of us to skip the upper slopes or use the flyer for the top. it's safer and friendlier.

If you could run D lift inplace of B lift it would be a win win! Longer intermediate terrain. The beginner skier would stay at Hunter One. Many extremly windy days this year and riding D lift would have been a great option. B lift is a waste of time for your regular skiers.

D lift would open half the Mountain to intermediate mid-week and all-area season pass holders who prefer the lower Mtn trails but are shut out of half the hill by the limits of B. FREE THE "D"!!!
