I don't care that I can't get a refund. Event planners have already spent the money I've paid to register, and a wave of cancellations could destroy a race. Instead, I'd just like to send someone else to run in my place.

I know some race buddies that have lost some big money due to the unexpected. Another issue I would like to see changed is letting ,those athletes that don't make the cut off time, to actually finish the event that they said for and trained for some time. Yes, they may not get a medal, but don't they get the right to finish the race for their own personal achievement?
