As he demonstrated in the 2005 special election in Ohio\'s 2nd District, Paul Hackett is a Democratic leader with fresh vision and the courage to speak his convictions. He lives by the motto \"lead or get the hell out of the way\" and was about to embark on a statewide bus tour to campaign for Senate. But now that Congressman Sherrod Brown has entered the race after promising not to, the Beltway party establishment is hinting that Hackett should drop out. Hackett is still making up his mind whether or not to stay in the race, so we can send a crucial message to him through this petition: We WILL support you in a primary and we WILL ensure your victory against Mike Dewine. The future of the Democratic leadership, the state of Ohio, and the country hangs in the balance.
The party suits are trying to push Hackett out and it honestly makes my blood boil because we need people who actually fight back instead of just falling in line. I have been spending way too much time refreshing my inbox waiting for an announcement but really I should be getting back to the phones since the establishment thinks they can just decide everything for us.

I really thought this might just fizzle out but the way people are showing up for Paul is honestly overwhelming and kind of surreal. It feels like we are accidentally building a movement that the establishment in Washington just cannot ignore even if they try to pretend we are not here. This energy is exactly what he needs to see so he knows for sure that he actually has a real path forward.

Sherrod Brown needs to sit this one out. Paul has the fire that we have been missing for years.

Enough with the party insiders choosing who we get to vote for. Tired of the same old suits.
