Would you be interested in seeing a Self Defence orientated Martial Arts Club established as a RUMS affiliate Club?

No previous experience needed, just an interest in learning!

This would, hopefully, include Sports Nights, a reasonable schedule and a tutorial system for all medical students.

At this point I just want to gauge backing before I set it up, but for the future I'd like to expand and involve competitive martial arts as well as fitness sessions.

The plus side of doing martial arts over other sports is that you don't have to travel far (training would take place in Bloomsbury ideally) and the brotherhood that I'm sure all martial artists will confirm accompanies this sport.

What are the down sides? Well, the big thing that annoys me the most is that UCLU are not allowing the creation of new RUMS clubs, hence an affiliate club. I'm sure they have a great reason for this, but it does make things slightly more expensive (Hopefully the lack of travel costs makes up for it!)
