California State Route 156 is a 4-mile length of roadway that connects U.S. 101 in Prunedale to California State Route 1 in Castroville. It is a heavily traveled 2 lane conventional highway that serves as the primary route linking people and goods from the Bay Area and the Central Valley to the Monterey Peninsula. For the safety of all drivers who must use this roadway, we petition to have "shoulder rumble strips" installed in order to reduce run-off-road collisions.
