Dear Friends ...
Isipathana College, Colombo formerly known as Greenlands College has gained itself a name as the most feared rugby playing team in the schools arena in Sri Lanka. Tagging them as "Kings of Schools Rugby" would be fair enough, as the school has maintained a rich history since taking up rugby as a sport in 1960 under Randy Keller in the under-17 age group. Kellers name is fondly remembered at Isipathana as it was his enthusiasm which persisted, encouraging some of the senior players to have a go at the sport which was the humble beginning of the spate of results that were reaped later.
Since that unforgettable day in 1963, Isipathana has reached a landmark which any school would like to have achieved for themselves. That is to have the honor of producing more than 60 national players in their 54-year-old rugby history with
6 league titles and 13 President trophies while being the runners up 12 occasions in their bag. This reveals the dominance of the glamour boys of local rugby.
