Please give the Blended Model a chance for students and families that want the in-school option. We have weighed the options and believe this is a safe way for continuing their education.

First, thank you for all you are trying to do in these unclear times.
Mental health is becoming an issue in our household. There are already factors that place some of my families mental health at a risk and adding a fully virtual school setting to their day will only cause more harm than good.
Prepared and fully aware of risks....
Both my sons attend VoTech. As of now, they are in person and are very happy about that. They are both pursuing fields in healthcare and understand the risks. Their dad is a nurse. He goes to work everyday, wears his PPE and comes home. He is leading by example. They want to go to school and not live in fear.
All the hard work for nothing?
With the plans you have proposed, including social distancing, masks, shields and limiting the amount of students per day, why decide on fully virtual?
Let’s move on, move forward and get these kids back to school under some sense of normalcy and show them the adults in their lives are willing to take the next step in allowing them this choice.
Please consider a vote of No to opening school in the fully virtual model. Get these kids back to school.

Open the school !! I am a physician and I go to work every day . I don’t understand why teachers can’t do there job like everybody else. If they concern about Covid -19 they can stay home and collect $600 a week !

Camps, pools, and general increased interactions between kids have been ongoing for quite some time. As best can be teased out of the existing data for Delaware County the demographic encompassing the children have remained largely unaffected by the increased interaction. The school setting is different to be sure, but we understand what needs to be done to minimize risk. The majority of parents felt the risk was acceptable for at minimum the blended model. We should have the choice.

The number of Daily positive Covid tests have gone down for over 2 weeks. The school needs to consider the welfare of our children and the community. There is no good reason to deny the children quality, in school education. My kids go to Media Elementary. Their mother lives in Media Boro and I live in Aston.

As an educator, I will be returning to the classroom to teach a hybrid program. I understand the value of this and having taught virtually in the spring, I saw the rapid decline of my students’ mental health. Children need to be in the classroom; they need the structure, social interaction, and hands on experiences. The hybrid program is a great compromise as it allows some time in the classroom and some time at home. Please continue with the hybrid plan in September. Our families and our children need this.

We were sent a survey to fill out about how we wanted our children educated for the school year. We voted in the majority for a hybrid model, only to be told some weeks later that wasn’t possible due to the antiquated ventilation systems in some of the schools. I feel, if this really is the issue, that there has been ample time to address this as we’ve known since March we were going to be living with this for the foreseeable future. To bring this up at the 11th hour, after the vote seems to make this look like there was not going to be class this fall no matter how the vote went. I ask that the school district figure this out and get our children back for some form of in person instruction.

Our children deserve safe in person instruction when it’s available. Our teachers and staff have spent hundreds of hours putting together a program that will work. Every classroom was measured. Every bus route was run. Everyone masked and with 6 ft of distance. Not all children need to attend in person...but we need to get the ones that do the opportunity. Our schools are ready. PA Dept of Health says we are in parameters. Close the gap.
