Appeal For Action

The Renaissance on Turtle Creek is the largest condominium property in Texas and home to over 1,000 residents. We are very concerned about the continued erosion of the protections afforded by zoning setbacks, height restrictions and other elements that are designed to preserve the Turtle Creek Corridor's unique ambiance. We oppose the reduced set-back variance requested by the developer of part of the 5-acre tract at the SWC of Turtle Creek Boulevard and Cedar Springs Road near Lee Park. We implore the City of Dallas and Council Member Angela Hunt to support local residents by enforcing the zoning restrictions and not allowing the developer to set a dangerous precedent that will negatively impact the Turtle Creek Corridor for decades to come. To do so violates a primary objective of Article 193 of the Oak Lawn Special Use District: "To promote and protect an attractive street level pedestrian environment with continuous street frontage activities in retail areas." |
