We, the undersigned, firmly believe the performance of the mod team of r/politics has been less than stellar, specially during the recent election cycle,

An absolutely non exhaustive list of offences is the following:

-selective enforcement of existent rules

-unilateral removal of features cherished by the community, such as saturday self posts.

-persistent efforts aimed at reducing visibility of posts that went against a partisan echo chamber.

-Allowing an intolerable proliferation of low-content posts (as long as they fell in their favoured partisan side).

-absolutely unilateral banning of terms (such as 'CTR' or 'correct the record'. Yes, they did that!).

-basically turning the sub into an undemocratic severely partisan and unreadable echo chamber.

In conclusion, we, the community, officially ask the mods of r/politics to resign their positions and forfeit their mod powers, for the sake of fairness, justice, and freedom of speech.

To prevent future issues similar to the described above, the new mod team must be chosen in open, democratic elections, where the community will have the final word. (this is critical and non-negotiable).

We firmly believe this way of proceeding will create a much healthier environment than the current corrupted state of affairs, giving back to the people the right of receiving reliable information,

Truly yours,

-A Number of Concerned Redditors.
