This is a petition to COMPLETE
the road construction on
BEFORE Memorial Day 2012.
So that on Friday, May 25, 2012 (the beginning of Memorial Weekend and the start of the summer season) ALL road construction on Rt. 54 is 100% COMPLETE.
It is imperative that residents and visitors who support our businesses in the resort towns of Ocean City, Maryland, Fenwick Island and Bethany Beach, Delaware do not experience delays or damage to their vehicles as a result of incomplete road construction.
All work must be 100% completed, all machinery, orange cones, debris and any evidence of continued construction must be removed and the construction route must allow traffic to flow freely in both directions without delay.

Five hundred people have signed on to demand that the construction crews clear off Route 54 immediately. The highway department needs to stop ignoring us because this chaos is destroying our ability to conduct business.

The delays are killing my commute. Get the crews out there and finish the job.
Sick of the orange barrels everywhere. It is dangerous and slows everyone down.
Every summer it gets worse. How long does it take to finish a stretch of highway? It is ridiculous.
Living here year round is a nightmare with this traffic. Just finish the road already!
TAKE THE CONES DOWN! We have waited long enough for this project to be done.
