This is absolutely necessary if we want our children (both boys and girls) to enjoy sports and get fit - don't we have an obesity problem in this country?! It has also been extremely frustrating to have so many colts matches cancelled due to unsuitable pitches during the rainy season - this facility is so necessary on so many different levels

Both my sons play football for Harpenden Colts. This pitch will massively assist with being able to train during the week in dark winter months. I also played hockey for years and Harpenden is one of the only towns not to have an astro pitch. It will not only benefit Colts and Roundwood Park but the whole Town.

Driving our family out of town to training on 2 consecutive nights with our younger third child has been really difficult and tiring for all during the winter months. A local facility would be heavily used and give children and young adults something much more purposeful to do in their own town.

A town the size of Harpenden desperately needs good local astro facilities to support healthy sport in the town. It would not only have a massively positive impact on fitness of children in the town but would be a great asset for the whole community.

The all weather pitch will fill a needed gap in the area and provide a facility worthy of the grass roots participation the club brings to the game.
