Roundwood Park Artificial Pitch

We are a local community kids football team promoting everything that is good about a club - accessible to all, local, run by volunteers - mainly parents of the children involved and committed to keep growing and improving. These community ventures need to be encouraged. It is mad that Harpenden can put up so many new houses a year but we struggle to get an artificial football pitch in Harpenden for our youngsters to play on....

Seems a shame that a town the size of Harpenden STILL has no provision within it for midweek training. Forcing us parents to travel to St Albans, Luton or Hatfield. Harpenden Colts also has almost 1000 registered players so is a singnificant community within the town for BOTH boys & girls. The location at Roundwood is ideal and would be a real asset for the town itself beyond Harpenden Colts.

This is long overdue …. our children deserve this & Colts have a long history of delivering for the youth of this Town

Harpenden is a great town to live in which attracts and promotes family life. We have lived here for 10 years plus, and I can see my son and his friends would benefit directly. This will clearly have longer term benefit to Harpenden too. I am pleased to support this development as I feel more facilities are needed to support the youth within our town, along with the exiting arts and leisure facilities currently being developed. A state of the art facility on our doorstep will only help to encourage local children to exercise - which is in all of our interests.

Colts is a large club which provides the opportunity for hundreds of children to enjoy playing football. Many squads have to travel quite far to train which is a challenge for the parents, and during the winter our pitches are regularly unplayable due to the wet weather. Harpenden really needs this facility.

This pitch is essential to meeting the needs of the club, development of sport in the surrounding area and the progression for the young people in the area

We desperately need a good facility within the town - with so many young boys and girls playing football with Colts it's crazy that so many parents are driving such long distances for training. A club like Colts and a town like Harpenden deserve a facility like this.

The Town of Harpenden as well as the football club and the school will all benefit from the construction of the pitch.

A great idea! as a former Colt and with a younger brother still playing this will give them far more opportunity to develop and young people!

I fully support this proposal and feel it would be an asset to the own and bring pleasure to many many children.
