Rosetta Stone: Cantonese
Dear Rosetta Stone Inc., We, the signees are well aware of the world-renowned Rosetta Stone language learning system. We have seen its effectiveness in helping our family, friends, coworkers, and acquaintances learn languages that are important to them. Yet we remain unable to take advantage of your amazing software. We appeal to you to create a package that teaches Cantonese. Currently you support 14 languages that have less native speakers than Cantonese; these include Dari, Dutch, Filipino (Tagalog), Greek, Hebrew, Indonesian, Irish, Latin, Pashto, Persian (Farsi), Polish, Swahili, Swedish, and Urdu. . Cantonese is spoken by an estimated 80 million people worldwide. It is the de facto language in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Macau and is crucial to individuals conducting business in these regions. Furthermore, there is a substantial diaspora of Cantonese speakers in the Anglosphere–North America, the UK, and Australia, who have children and grandchildren that are a promising market for a Cantonese version of Rosetta Stone. Cantonese is one of the top 20 most widely spoken languages in the world, yet effective software for teaching Cantonese is practically non-existent. This is a niche market that we beseech you to take advantage of. Thank you for your time.
