I first new of Rory after my late friend Mike told me of the man in a lumber-jack shirt and old Strat who played like no other, with total feel , and a love of live playing way back around 1975...Saw him at least 10 times over the years, even spoke to him once in Aylesbury after a gig. Lovely polite guitarist ( not expected ) ... RIP Rory .

Rory has had a huge impact! on the blues /rock music inspiring so many to play a fender Stratocaster. had a key role on many blues recordings. ask to replace Eric Clapton when he left cream, and later to replace Brian Jones. in the rolling stones. but chose to do his own music. a very unique & original style.

His influence was broad and deep - how many musicians have sold 30 million records? How many toured as hard as RG did? Just do the "right" thing in this case.
