Room 2 kids should stay!!

We need more classes for kids with disabilities not less.

Please keep Stephanie Weiss' class Room #2 at Del Mar Middle School. It is important for both the typical kids and Stephanie's students!!

This is not right.

Please do not eliminate a program that is working. Room 2 offers a bright spot for kids that are spending a life time facing incredible challenges.

A supportive inclusive classroom does not exist in every school, or with every group of students. When this balance is found, it is life changing for students and families alike. If this is legal, it shouldn't be. Seems like the least restrictive environment to me.

Thank you everyone who started this petition. Del Mar has been the MOST AMAZING school site for Devin's class. We appreciate your kids so much who spend time with our kids during lunch and break. It has helped them in so many immeasurable ways. I hope this petition might have some impact on whether their class can stay. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!!!!

There is a multitude of reasons and benefits for maintaining a space for this special needs program at Del Mar. On the top of the list is Stephanie Weiss, a dedicated professional who puts her heart and soul into her work and does an amazing job with the special needs kids at Del Mar. At the same time, Stephanie helps to educate the Tiburon and Belvedere teens who come through Del Mar, on Autism awareness and the importance of treating these special kids with respect and kindness. If you've ever been in Stephanie's classroom and seen the excitement on the faces of the special kids, as they are preparing for lunch with their "peer buddies", you would understand the integral role the Del Mar location plays in the progress of the kids who attend school in Room 2. Stephanie's work is life changing for the special kids and their families - and I believe Stephanie and the kids have played an important role in changing the lives of many of the main-stream kids at Del Mar. Four years ago, my son started as a peer buddy in Stephanie’s class room. With Stephanie’s care and thoughtful training, my son realized how he could positively impact the life of a special needs child, by accepting them for who they are and helping them to feel more normal as they lunch with peer buddies at Del Mar. Based on the experience my son had helping in Stephanie’s class when he was in 8th grade, he decided to keep going back to Del Mar to help during the summer school session, on weekends during special outings and on days when he is out of high school early enough to stop by Del Mar and help out for an hour or so. Because of the experience my son had working with Stephanie and the kids at Del Mar, he decided to increase his help with special needs kids by volunteering with a program geared especially for special needs kids through the Marin Humane Society. I’m guessing there are many other students who attended Del Mar, who are benefitting society by continuing to volunteer to help others w

KEEP KIDS IN THE PROGRAM. MY COUSIN HAS AUTUSIM AND STRIGGLES THE PARENTS MEED THIS PROGRAM PLEASE KEEP IT !!!!

All children deserve a great education.

Autism should not stop someone's education! Just because someone has a disability doesn't mean they are different. They aren't Aliens. They are humans. Just like you are. Just like everyone else is. That doesn't mean that you need to kick someone out of a school just because of a disability.

Autism matters you shouldnt kick them out just because they are dofferent

I firmly believe special needs kids should have an opportunity to participate in mainstream activities with mainstream kids as much as possible.

Let's get 2000 signatures

Please please keep these kids at del mar. It truly is necessary.
