We are a group of concerned citizens who have seen in person or the videos of the July 11th March in Romeo and a complete and total lack of compliance with executive order 2020-147 which states:

1. Any individual who leaves their home or place of residence must wear a face covering over their nose and mouth:

a. When in any indoor public space;

b. When outdoors and unable to consistently maintain a distance of six feet or more from individuals who are not members of their household;

and that the order is effective immediately for individuals:

As to individuals, this order takes place immediately. As to businesses, this order will take effect at 12:01 am on Monday, July 13.

Our concern is that despite an enormous police presence, dozens of people were allowed to disregard this order aimed at public health and safety and there were absolutely no consequences.

Our Police force is funded by the citizens and it is their duty to carry out the laws and orders put in place by our elected officials past and present, regardless of their personal feelings, beliefs or preferences.

We hope we can expect an explanation and an assurance that this was an exception and will not be the rule.
