I am signing this petition as the distributor of GoPro Cameras here in Malaysia. Malaysia has always had the advantage of enjoying tax free status for cameras and it is unfortunate that this is no longer the case . Tax free status for cameras gives Malaysia the competitive advantage even to tourists.

Photographic and video gear should revert to 0 % to discourage enthusiasts from buying from overseas where VAT refunds are available for tourists.

I hope that the ministry will rollback taxes on camera equipment to PRE-GST rate of 0%. This will encourage Malaysians to take up photography as an affordable and interesting hobby. This will also result in a positive by-product of introducing our beautiful country to the rest of the world in photos!
