Due to the poor currency exchange with all items listed in US dollars, camera equipment, accessories prices have inflated to stratospheric levels.
Retail clients have ever smaller budgets, corporates have their budgets slashed, governments needing to be in austerity mode, photographers need to have every bit of help to lower their cost of equipment maintenance, rapid depreciation of current equipment and cost of new acquisitions, skills upgrade and keeping up with new technology developments and rapid advancements.
In a modern society, documentary photography highlights little known causes, brings attention to current events and news, captures memories of history that needs to be retold to the next generation. It is a crucial modern tool of historical recording, an important tool to update and inform the masses.
