It is NOT only for the Love of Photography, but more for a HUGE Film Industry. Taxes on an industry that is lagging behind our neighbours further handicaps us. As it stands, in terms of equipment we are already very far behind.

I fully support the movement to ask the Govt not to impose SST on cameras and it's ancillary equipment because photography is on decline due changing technology in photography. Now smartphones almost all come with a built-in camera.

The people who runs te government should know that us photographers contribute to the national tourism industry by producing great images either on landscape photography on local spots or any relevant media related activities.

Camera, lens and accessories are expensive enough don’t burden rakyat further with SST to curb the creative rakyat of such profession as it can be not just a luxury hobbies. Likewise what is the valid reason new government has to charge SST on these items?

I am signing this petition as the distributor of GoPro Cameras here in Malaysia. Malaysia has always had the advantage of enjoying tax free status for cameras and it is unfortunate that this is no longer the case . Tax free status for cameras gives Malaysia the competitive advantage even to tourists.
