Táimidne ag iarraidh ort tacaíocht a fháil ó do chomh-airí Rialtais chun (i) cosaint a dhéanamh ar Roinn na Gaeltachta mar phríomhroinn cosanta agus tacaíochta na Gaeltachta agus na Gaeilge agus (ii) beannacht an Rialtais a fháil don Straitéis 20 Bliain don Ghaeilge ina mbeidh ról láidir fiontair ag Údarás na Gaeltachta mar atá molta ag dhá Comhchoiste de chuid an Oireachtais. We're looking for (i)support for the retention of Roinn na Gaeltachta as the primary support and protection for the Gaeltacht and the Irish language and (ii) to obtain Government approval for the 20 year strategy for the Irish language giving a pivotal role to Údarás na Gaeltachta as recommended by two Joint Oireachtas Committees.

I have spent the last few days drafting a formal briefing document to present to the Joint Oireachtas Committees. This report outlines why the retention of a dedicated department is essential for the future of our Gaeltacht regions.
