Open and shut case with the stats, but don't forget he was a gentleman, who personified integrity and respected the fans to his dying day.

One of my cousins in Taylor, MI was one of Rocky Colavito's neighbors [when MLB superstars lived in regular neighborhoods in normal houses]. My cousin took me to Rocky's house; I rang the doorbell, and Rocky came to the door. Although the Tigers were in town and playing later that day, Rocky greeted us with a big smile, treated me with respect and kindness [I'm 76 now but was only 11 at the time.], and gladly signed the only ballglove I owned. [Rocky personified the addage: A person's character can be defined by how they treat those who can't help them.]

Rocky is also credited with a win as a pitcher. It occurred in 1968 in relief again the Detroit Tigers, who went on to win the World Series. that year.

He is more than qualified to be in the HOF. A glaring omission.

Rocky is definitely a worthy candidate. Listened to many of his games on radio in southern Ontario. I’m shocked that he’s not in already.

He definitely deserves the HOF. One of the top hitters and defensive outfielders during his time.
