Love your Story Scott thanks. I have all but 1 of his cards the high (580) 1 from near the end of his career. Had a neighbor that saw his 4 homer game w his Dad in 58 in person in Baltimore.

In his last year he played part time 40 games w Dodgers then his last 39 games with the Yankee's one of which he pitched in. His only other game he pitched in was in 1958 w Cleveland. His lifetime was 0.00 not bad

Rocky has a record worth recognition in Cooperstown. But these statistics don't show the intangibles. He was a good example and idol to the youth of America, including this 71 year old kid. His kindness was unparalleled.

I did a tally on the best 10 straight years of sluggers from 50's and 60's Killebrew, Mantle Mays Mathews Aaron Robinson Banks he's right up in their midst w their 10 best Consective years. They all played longer but read why in Sommer's Book (2019)PS Strongest arm of the bunch.

Love the man as a player growing up in Cleveland! When traded the whole town deflated and Hated Trader Frank Lane from that day even till this day over 60 yrs ago still resonates in my heart today!! You only would know if you lived thru this time period. PUT HIM IN! DESERVES IT!!! The ROCK RIP❤️
