Please do not encrypt all of the transmissions. In a city like Rockford, with the crime that we have , it is imperative that average citizens get most of the info. on crime so that we can protect and prepare ourselves.Please reconsider the total encryption.

The public should be notified the truth as soon as possible, doing this would hide them in the dark and make the world even more of a dystopia because the lack of notification for crime in the public area.

I depend on Rockford Scanner more than any other news source to keep my family safe. It is absolutely necessary to keep the channels open for the public. It provides timely information regarding accidents and areas to avoid when there are problems. It also gives the community a reality check on the difficult and sometimes dangerous job our police and fire departments face every day.
